NTA released the JEE (Main) 2027 Information Bulletin on 24 October 2026. The photo rules look like NEET's, with one key difference: the photo must be in colour. This page is preset to the 2027 bulletin — photo 10–200 KB, signature 10–100 KB — so you can crop, resize and download both in a minute. Your images are processed on your phone, never uploaded to us.
Colour photo is mandatory for JEE Main
Unlike NEET UG 2026, which accepts black and white, the JEE Main 2027 bulletin asks for a recent passport-size photo in colour. A black and white or heavily filtered photo risks rejection.
The face must cover about 80% of the photo, with no mask, both ears visible and a white background. Crop close — head and top of shoulders — so the face dominates the frame. A live photo is also captured during the form, so the uploaded one should look like you today.
Why 276 × 354 pixels?
NTA gives a file size range (10–200 KB) but no pixel dimensions. We output a standard passport shape: 3.5 × 4.5 cm at 200 DPI, which is 276 × 354 px. That comfortably fits 10–200 KB and looks sharp. The DPI is written into the JPG.
The signature comes out as a 300 × 100 px strip between 10 and 100 KB. If a file falls under the 10 KB minimum, it's padded safely without changing the picture.
Your other documents are PDFs
Besides the photo and signature, the JEE Main 2027 form asks for supporting documents such as your Class 10 certificate as PDFs of 50–300 KB. A phone scan is often several MB, so compress it first.
Compressing to 200 KB leaves a safe margin under 300 KB while staying above the 50 KB minimum for a typical scan. Check the result size on the card before uploading.
Photo mistakes that get JEE forms flagged
- Selfie with a background of a room or wall poster.
- Face too small — a full-body or half-body photo cropped badly.
- Wearing a mask or with hair covering the ears.
- Photo taken in yellow indoor light, making the white background look orange.
- An old school photo that doesn't match the live capture.
